However, once in place the traditional pet gate itself can dominate the surroundings. The sleek design and soft curves of the Automatic Folding Retractable Dog Gate, along with the matt black or matt white, non-reflective and anti-scratch finish will complement the d�cor of even the most modern of homes. When not in use, the gate can be neatly concertinaed, subtly blending in with the look of the family home.��To ensure the gate can withstand the attention of the most playful of pets, the gate is made from a highly durable ABS plastic. When in use the gate will remain robustly in place and can withstand any number of hard knocks from even the largest of dog breeds. The gate has been certified to the EN1930:2011 for Safety Barriers, which includes impact and rattle tests. The gate can be installed from wall to wall, or from the inside or outside of door frames and hallways. As there is no trip bar running along the base of the gate when in use, the gate is also suitable for positioning at the top or bottom of flights of stairs. If installing at the top of a flight of stairs, ensure a minimum of 13cm space is left between the barrier and the top step.� If installing the gate from wall to wall or inside a door frame, the gate will fit all widths from 64.5cm to 89cm.� If installing outside a door frame or passageway, the gate fits outside of openings from 55cm to 79.5cm.�The gate can be extended with one extension piece, fitting wall to wall or inside a door frame up to 113.5cm, or if installing outside of openings up to 103.5cm.� The height of the gate when installed is 69cm, which typically is sufficient to deter clearance from most dog breeds. For particularly jumpy breeds it is possible to mount the gate higher, whilst still ensuring the dog cannot crawl underneath the barrier. �To operate the gate the user simply needs to pull the panel across and place in the locking mechanism. To release the gate, simply slide and push the button above the handle and the gate will automatically open and fold back against itself.�Please note the gate can be installed with a skirting board if you purchase the additional Retractable Gate Spacer. ��
